Jenna Fischer has become best well-known for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. In the course of playing this character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Born in Fort Wayne Indiana, she spent most of her childhood in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna was a child who watched her mother, Anne performing in church plays. This instilled in her an interest in theater.
After wrapping up The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her roots. She starred with Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway show Reasons for Being Happy. In Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office's Angela Kinsey (the co-star of Fischer) and her best friend in real life Angela Kinsey, who is from The Office, started a podcast in the month of October. It was titled Office Ladies. The show has grown in popularity and is now in the Top Ten every single week. The debut year, the show received over 200 million downloads. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Years award in January of 2021.
