Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 points in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she was crowned champion. In her very first international competition in 1972, she won the event having won three golds. When she made her first senior competition in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champion, winning four golds and one argent. She became the first female to do a reverse double salo on the parallel bar that was uneven when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. The journey of Carol Wayne in the world of entertainment began as a teenager. Along with her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined touring entertainment programs that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry during her teenage year. At the age of 13 she was a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
